Understanding Web Traffic by Device on Chirp
Your audience can visit your Chirp page from a phone, tablet, or computer. Knowing how they browse helps you make your content easier to explore. Web traffic by device shows which devices visitors use to access your page. Here’s how to find this information in Chirp and use it when updating your bio link.

What Does Traffic by Device Mean?
Traffic by Device breaks down page traffic according to the devices visitors use. It helps you understand the screens your audience is viewing your content on.
Chirp’s analytics overview describes browsing across iOS, Android, and desktop. iOS and Android refer to operating systems, while desktop refers to browsing on a computer. Follow the labels shown in your report when reviewing your results. Learn more about Chirp Analytics.
This breakdown tells you how visitors access your page. On its own, it doesn’t tell you what they clicked, whether they made a purchase, or how much revenue they generated.
How to Check Web Traffic by Device
To review your device data:
- Log in to your Chirp account and open Insights.
- If you manage multiple pages, use the All Pages dropdown to select the page you want to review.
- Use the date dropdown under Current Month to choose your reporting period.
- Find Traffic by Device and review the breakdown.
For help with a metric, hover over the information icon (ⓘ) in its section. You can also follow Navigating Creator Insights for more information about the dashboard.
How to Interpret Your Results
Start with the device category that accounts for the largest share of your traffic. This gives you a practical starting point for checking your page.
- If mobile traffic leads: Prioritize checking text, images, and links on a smaller screen.
- If desktop traffic is significant: Review how your layout and visuals appear on a larger display.
- If traffic is spread across categories: Test your main content and links across different screen sizes.
You don’t need to aim for a particular mobile-to-desktop ratio. Your results should guide how you review your own page.
When comparing periods, look at total traffic alongside the device breakdown. A device’s share can fall even when visits from that device increase, if traffic from other devices grows faster.
Use Device Insights to Improve Your Page
Once you know how people browse, open your page as a visitor and check the experience.
Make Your Main Links Easy to Find
Place your most relevant content near the top. Use clear link labels so visitors can understand where each link will take them.
On a phone, check whether someone can quickly find your latest video, shop, booking link, or current promotion.
Check Images on Different Screens
Make sure important details remain visible when images are cropped or resized. Avoid relying on small text inside an image to explain your offer.
Chirp supports separate mobile and desktop images in sections such as Hero and Featured tiles. Use these options to choose visuals that suit each screen. See How to Make a Page Sing for setup instructions.
Test the Full Journey
Tap or click your key links and check the destination pages too. If you’re promoting a product, signup form, or booking page, make sure visitors can complete that next step comfortably on their device.
Review Device Traffic Alongside Other Insights
Device data is more useful when you give it context. Top Referrers shows which channels send visitors, while Views and Unique Users help you understand overall traffic and audience size. These metrics are explained in Navigating Creator Insights.
Review them for the same page and date range. Patterns can suggest what to investigate, but separate reports don’t prove that a particular channel sent visitors using a particular device.
After updating your page, check it on the screens your audience uses most. Keep your links clear, your visuals readable, and your next step easy to follow.
